About Us
Yap Wraps was born out of love for my little Havanese, Misha. I used to walk Misha with a regular dog collar when one day a big dog came charging towards us. I panicked and quickly pulled Misha up and away from the big dog leaving Misha dangling up in the air with her collar. A concerned woman with a small dog saw what had happened and told me about collapsing trachea. Small dogs are prone to this condition because their trachea are softer than big dogs and many small dogs are born with this defect. Concerned for my Misha’s well-being I went from one pet shop to another only to find very few options: a harness made with webbing and hard to put on or some expensive yet inadequate dog harness. The lack of choices for small dogs (under 8 pounds) prompted me to design a harness for my Misha. I wanted a harness that is easy to put on, comfortable and can be worn 24/7 and yet fashionable to enhance her beauty. Thus, the Yap Wraps harness was born. I’ve added our patent pending handle for easy handling and on-demand lifting around the house and in dog parks. In 2005, while making the Yap Wrap harness on my kitchen table I saw QVC on TV inviting people to submit their good ideas for its 10th year Product Search Anniversary. I quickly jump to this opportunity and submitted my Yap Wrap Harness. To my delight my design was chosen as one of 100 products to be shown on QVC’s 10th year aniversary of Product Search. The Yap Wrap harness’ television debut on QVC was a sell out and later was chosen as one of 10-best product for QVC’s Product Search Anniversary. Three years later and more than 50,000 pieces sold Yap Wrap Harness continue to be one of QVC’s popular item for pets. I continue to develope products of substance for pets. Much like the Yap Wrap harness, function is an important part of my designs; The Mommy and Me bag designs combine mommy’s needs and comfort for small dogs.; The jewelries are beautiful tag holders and will stretch for safety; The harness is hands-free allowing mommy or daddy to walk or jog in comfort and style with their pooch; The Peek-a-boo beds provide comfort and give a sense of privacy to dogs; The Power Treat I’ve developed for my 5 dogs are made with organic grains and USDA meats and fish and designed to help clean their teeth. The Yap Safety belt will perhaps be the only crash-tested seat belt in the pet industry today.These are just a few of what I do for love -- for my pets and for ALL pets.
